Tailored work experience placements for young people aged 18–24 in Dumfries and Galloway New Deal

Stewartry CVS work in partnership with a range of agencies to deliver New Deal Streamline for 18-24year olds. This programme helps young people claiming job seekers allowance gain the training and experience they need to move into employment. This is done by finding and placing them in a work setting that they have identified as a possible career path. Placements are available across a wide range of employers in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors. SCVS holds the contract with Job Centre Plus to deliver this service. www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/

Examples of the types of work placements available are:

  • Retail
  • Catering
  • Care
  • Office Work
  • Outdoor Work
  • Animals
  • IT
  • You name it, we'll find it!

If, as an employer, you feel you can assist a young person in this area, or require further information,
please contact Annie Meldrum at the SCVS New Deal Unit on 07796 274641.
