EQUAL : Strengthening the Social Economy

Stewartry CVS is the lead partner in a local Development Partnership funding work under the European EQUAL programme to develop improved mechanisms to support the social economy in Dumfries and Galloway . Partners include Scottish Enterprise Dumfries and Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Dumfries and Galloway Federation of CVS, Stewartry Local Health Care Co-operative, Communities Scotland and Careers Scotland.

Currently work is underway to develop:

• a protocol between agencies for the support of social economy organisations
• a Guide to local and national sources of support – This will be web based
• consultation groups and training seminars
